Automatic Mushroom Farm

I’ve worked on a similar project in the past, and I’m looking to set it up again. This time, I’m aiming to use a water-based humidity control system to maintain optimal growing conditions.

Project Goal

Building a high-tech grow box for cultivating red oyster mushrooms using innovative humidity control methods. The system uses stagnant water and a fan to maintain optimal humidity, eliminating the need for a separate humidifier.

The Process

  1. Inoculation: Inoculate a bag of cooked and sterilized rice with red oyster mushrooms and let it grow
  2. Spawn Transfer: Use this bag as spawn and spread it over the fruiting chamber
  3. Environmental Control: Maintain temperature and humidity to let the fruiting bodies develop
  4. Harvest: Pull multiple batches out of this and enjoy eating red oyster mushrooms

Current Status

Currently on hold while focusing on PhD research. Plans to resume with improved sensor array and better water management system.
